Pro, purchases and AI Scan pages

What the free app stops doing, what it never stops doing, and how to buy on the device you’re holding. Read the first two in order — the rest will be there when you need them.

Two things worth knowing first

Prices are not in this guide — anywhere. They change, and the screen you’re buying from is a better place to read one. Every guide here tells you where the current figure appears instead: on the upgrade screen on a phone, tablet or Mac; on the checkout page in your browser on Windows and Linux; and for pages, on each pack tile in the AI Scan sheet on a phone, tablet or Mac, or on the browser checkout page on Windows and Linux. The same goes for the size of a page pack, because the packs on sale on a phone aren’t the packs on sale on a desktop.

Pro needs two things to line up: the account and the logbook. Pro is held by the Google or Apple account you signed in with, and it entitles one logbook. If the account is right and the logbook is wrong, you move the licence (K5). If the account is wrong, moving achieves nothing, and the answer is to sign in with the account you bought with (K3). Both mistakes look identical from the outside — both say Free Tier — so read Subscription Status before anything else.

Everything in this area lives in one place: tap your own profile card at the top of the dashboard to open Profile Settings, then scroll to ACCOUNT & DATA. There’s no Settings tab (→ A9). The exception is buying AI Scan pages, which you reach from inside AI Scan — it has no entry in Settings at all.

Words this area introduces

Pro — a one-time purchase, not a subscription. The app names the two states in exactly one place, the Subscription Status row: Free Tier and Pro Tier.

Your licence — the signed file the app stores on the device after a purchase. It’s what makes Pro work offline, and it isn’t the same thing as being signed in: a sign-in session that has expired doesn’t take Pro away.

Licence key — a code shaped AA- plus four groups of five characters, from a gift, a receipt email, or a web purchase made while signed out. Ordinary purchases never produce one you have to type in.

Page — one image sent to AI Scan. One camera shot, one gallery picture, or one page of a PDF. Not one flight, and not one logbook spread.

Pack — a one-time purchase of a fixed number of pages. Pages never expire.
