Standing on
open shoulders.

Aviator Archive ships with 84,000+ airports, 10,000+ aircraft types, 1,500+ manufacturers, and worldwide map coverage built in. None of that exists without the open-data communities below — we owe them an honest credit, in writing.

How updates land in the app

Each release of Aviator Archive bundles the freshest baseline of these datasets we have at build time. You don't need to do anything — install the latest version and you're current.

If you're the kind of pilot who wants newer data between our releases (a brand-new airfield, a niche type designator the bundled set hasn't picked up yet), pull the latest CSV directly from the upstream source above. A built-in self-refresh flow is on the roadmap; until then the data lives in your bundle and the upstreams are one click away.

Open-source components

The Aviator Archive app is built on top of the Flutter framework, the SQLite embedded database, and dozens of open-source Dart packages. A complete list of the libraries we ship — with their licences — lives in the in-app About → Open-source licences screen. We try to upstream patches when we touch a dependency in a useful way.

Thanks.

To the OurAirports volunteers who curate one of the best open aviation datasets on the internet, to the OpenSky Network research team for sharing the metadata that makes type-rating filters actually work, and to the OpenStreetMap contributors who keep the world mapped — Aviator Archive is better because of you.
