Move Pro to another logbook

What this does

Makes the logbook you’ve got open your account’s logbook, so the Pro licence you already own covers it.

Before you start

  • This is for when the account is right and the logbook is wrong. You own Pro on this Google or Apple account, but this logbook reads Free — usually because you deleted a logbook and made a new one, or you’re using a different logbook from the one you bought on. If the account is wrong, moving does nothing at all: sign out and back in with the account you bought with (→ K3). Both look the same from the outside — both say Free Tier — so read Subscription Status before you decide which one you’ve got.
  • You have to be signed in, and this logbook mustn’t already be Pro. In either of those cases the control is hidden, and that’s correct — so if you can’t find the row, check Subscription Status first.
  • It moves your account, not only Pro. An account has one logbook, and Pro belongs to it. Moving makes this logbook your account’s logbook; the one it leaves is signed out of your account the next time it opens.
  • You can move once every 30 days. If you need to sooner, contact support (→ A11).
  • You need a connection.

Steps

  1. Open the logbook you want Pro on. Moving acts on whatever is open.
  2. Tap your profile card on the dashboard to open Profile Settings, and scroll to ACCOUNT & DATA.
  3. Tap Move Pro to this logbook, beneath the subtitle Pro belongs to your account’s logbook. Make this one your account’s logbook to bring Pro here (once every 30 days).
  4. Read what moving does on the Move your account screen, type this logbook’s name where it asks, and tap Move my account to this logbook.

How to tell it worked

A message reads “” is now your account’s logbook, and is signed in. Subscription Status in the same section reads Pro Tier — thank you for your support! (signed in with Google), or Apple, and the Move Pro to this logbook row has gone, because this logbook is the Pro one now. The Pro features stop asking: select PDF in the export panel and the blue notice has gone.

When there’s nothing to move

Several common situations need no action at all. Restoring a logbook from a backup, and sending a logbook to a new device, both keep the logbook’s identity, so Pro follows by itself (→ H6, I2, I3).

What the other logbook loses

The logbook your account leaves is signed out of your account the next time it opens, and goes back to the free tier. Nothing in it is deleted, hidden or locked. It keeps every flight, document and setting, and it can still import, export CSV and Excel, back up and restore. Sync needs a signed-in account, so it stops syncing. What it gets back is the 100-hour limit on new flights entered in the app, counted as it always was (→ K2).

Moving doesn’t combine the two logbooks or copy anything between them. If you made two by mistake and want one, combine them instead (→ H8).

Pro on two logbooks at once means two pilots, each with their own account and their own purchase. One account can’t hold two logbooks.

If you are stuck between accounts

If the licence is on an account you can no longer sign in to, you can’t move it from the app. Contact support (→ A11): we can move it by hand, and you won’t have to buy anything again.
